About LVJ

Hi, everyone!

I’m Valentina and I am the creator of Little Vine Jewelry. I love live music shows, my dog, trying new restaurants and, above all, creating!

As a very creative child, I spent countless hours writing short stories, drawing, and painting pictures. In adulthood, I worked in the publishing industry for a number of years, and it became more and more obvious that I had been slowly retreating from my creative roots. After flirting with it for years, I finally decided to teach myself jewelry making during the pandemic lockdown. Learning these great new skills finally gave me that extra push I needed to get back to creating!

I make each one-of-a-kind piece by hand, from start to finish, in my Toronto studio. My aim is to create jewelry that is decorative and unique, yet highly functional - lightweight jewelry that can be worn all day at the office, or a night out on the town.

The word ‘vignette’ means “little vine” in French and has origins in Old French. In English, it has a few different literary definitions and, strangely enough, they all describe exactly what I wanted Little Vine Jewelry to be. In some literary works, especially in older works, title pages and the commencement of new book chapters are decorated with intricate vine-like leaves and greenery - ‘vignettes’ dancing their way down the page. A ‘vignette’ can also be a device where short scenes capture a defining detail about a character or an idea, or help paint a more complete picture of a much larger work.

I hope that Little Vine Jewelry pieces will become your defining detail, capture the vivid imagery of your everyday life and help you begin a brand new chapter.

Thank you for visiting!
